The Purple Wyrm

I want to become a wizard with magic powers.

Ha!  You didn’t think I was the one saying that, did you?  After all, I’m already a dragon and I have magic powers you’ve never even imagined.

Wizards?  They’re okay.  And the becoming more popular recently with all these Harry Potter books and copycats.  It seems like everywhere you go these days are some kids saying, ” I want to become a wizard of magic powers”.

What these kids don’t realize is that becoming a wizard is a lot harder than the kiddie books may get out to be.  You don’t get to sit in a classroom, wave your wand around, and say some funny Latin based words.  Sure, there are some folks who have a natural talent for magic, but the majority of those who end up being wizards go through hell to get there.

I want to become a wizard the magic powers.

When Jarbarth the Eternally Knackered uttered that sentence to his parents as a boy, little did he realize he was about to embark on eighteen years of eating weird things, taming evil beasts, battling a really nasty case of foot warts.  And then there was a homework.
